powerful, scaleable and reliable than it's nearest competitors. With
features such as support for Microsoft Active Server Pages, MySQL

quality Web hosting services. Built to last and pre-loaded with a
suite of powerful software, the Matrix Linux is the choice of professionals. |
Network Equipment
Data Centre
All Web Appliances are housed in a Data Centre facility worth over
£10 Million pounds and provides the most secure environment for
your Website. Features such as Advanced Fire Suppression Systems,
Denco Environmental Climate Control, APC UPS equipment and advanced
monitoring ensure that your server is online 24 hours a day, 365
days a year.
Backbone
All appliance servers are accessed via multiple connections to the
Internet from high quality backbone providers. We currently have
100 Mb of bandwidth and an additional 155 Mb available "on tap"
to cope with future demand.
IP Management
If required we can provide advanced IP management solutions:
Common Examples:- IP load balancing at router level (for example,
if you have two servers we can automatically split requests between
them), fail-over support (if your primary server fails we can route
requests to a backup server) etc. If you require more information
please contact sales@fast-name.co.uk
Bandwidth
All of our dedicated server packages have a bandwidth allocation.
If your server exceeds this limit then additional bandwidth is charged
at 2p per mb. Alternatively, you can opt for your server to be moved
on to a 'fixed bandwidth' plan.
Fixed Bandwidth
By default, our servers are supplied on a metered bandwidth
plan. Your server will have a bandwidth limit per month and, if
you exceed this limit, additional charges apply per mb of transfer.
As an alternative your server can be supplied with a fixed throughput
of bandwidth. For example, if you server is allocated 4mb's of bandwidth
then it will be able to transfer up to 4mb's at any one time. Additional
transfer will simply cause your server to transfer data more slowly.
If you are interested in moving your server to a fixed bandwidth
plan please contact sales@fast-name.co.uk
for further advice and pricing information.
Port filtering and security
We can assist you with your server's security strategy. For example,
we can automatically block certain ports on your server at the router
level or we can block certain IP addresses from accessing your server.
If you require more information please contact sales@fast-name.co.uk
Service Level Agreement
All dedicated web appliances come complete with a service level
guarantee outlining our commitment to you and the level of service
that is offered with your server. Our guarantee covers the following
aspects of your service:
30 Minute hardware reboot
If your server stops responding and you would like us to reboot
it for you we promise to do this within 30 minutes, 24 hours a day
365 days a year.
30 Minute technician
If your server suffers a hardware fault we promise to have a technician
working on it within 30 minutes after you report it to us and to
keep you regularly updated as to the progress of your fault. This
applies 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
60 Minute upgrade
If you need any aspect of the hardware on your server upgrading
we promise to complete this upgrade within 60 minutes of your request
subject to: Part availability with up to £250,000 worth of parts
available in stock and can normally order parts for same day delivery
with cleared payment for the cost of your upgrade. The only exception
is upgrades involving hardware RAID systems, which are normally
completed within 1 business day.
99% Internet Connectivity
A direct relationship with BT who supply diversely routed fibre
to our data centre exists. Unlike many of our competitors, there
has been an additional investment of buying bandwidth direct from
BT as they are able to provide us with un-paralleled service and
connection guarantees. Should our Internet connectivity fail for
more than 1% of the time in any calendar month, we will refund the
one days service for every hour that Internet connectivity has been
unavailable over and above 1% of time for that month up to a maximum
of your monthly service fee.
Price Freeze with no minimum commitment
We will never raise the price of your server, even if the price
increases for new customers
Bandwidth contention.
We guarantee to maintain a 1:1 contention ratio on bandwidth. Due
to a direct relationship with BT, we have the capacity to increase
available Internet Bandwidth instantly, on demand.
