Google sitemaps has not worked

Check the following:-

Does your site have a redirection or rewrite to another directory? For example if http://example.com/ has a rewrite rule to http://example.com/live/, the only entry in the file sitemap.xml will be
<url>
<loc>http://example.com/</loc>
<priority>0.5000</priority>
</url>
After correcting any errors; clear the browser cache; shutdown ALL instances of the browser; and restart the browser, before retrying the sitemap one click facility.
The 'Upload sitemap to Google automatically' box is misleading. What actually happens when this box is ticked is that Google is notified that there is a new sitemap.xml file in your root directory. Google will fetch some time; it could be a day or more - rarely is it immediate.
